Our vacation on the north shore at Haleiwa 61-419 was wonderful. The house is beautiful with high end appliances. I offer the following comments for consideration by the owners.1. The air conditioning for the living area of the main house is inadequate. The outside temperature during our week’s stay was in the mid-80’s. The living room was unbearable in the afternoons with room temperature reaching 84 F.2. The air conditioning on the second floor of the main house would not cool the bedroom, forcing our family to use the studio room. The temperature on the second floor never got below 90 F during the day.3. The gas stove is a professional grade, but the igniter for the grill area in the center of the burners did not work and had to be lighted manually.4. We could only get one electrical outlet in the studio to work. No combination of switches seemed to make a difference.5. The key pad on the outside of the garage did not always work forcing us to enter the garage from the passenger door.We would definitely consider this house for future vacations.
We are sorry that this family had problems, management is currently correcting them all. We ask guests to call us immediately when they have such problems and we will take care of them promptly. Our goal is that you enjoy Hawaii so much you visit us again, and we are glad that despite the electrical issues this family has decided to do so! Aloha.
We loved the property, view was great, everything we needed. Our family had a great time there. I would suggest something to hang clothes on in the loft area. We had one problem with the main house air conditioning and I had to call several times to get a repairman out and it still was not fixed until the next afternoon. That was a bit irritating to have to call and remind so much but other than that it was a great vacation and we would go back there. The town of Halewia was charming and supplied everything we needed without going far. We spent most of our time enjoying the beach outside the house.
Our group appreciated the pre-trip service and advice the Hawaii Beach Homes group provided to us. The private location and amazing views allowed us to relax and "live simply" at the Beachfront Paradise. A memorable experience in a cleanly elegant house.
Thoroughly Enjoyed the Beachouse. Best location and dwelling in the area. Made great friends with locals, turtles, and neighbors! We returned home with a family pact to stay longer next year.
I really don't think I could've found a better place for our annual family get-together. I/we particularly enjoyed the separate unit(cottage?) for privacy and quiet (there were 7 20+ y/o's). With only one day (out of ten) of less than perfect weather, the beachfront location was, pardon the cliche, awesome! You couldn't ask for any better. If I had any regrets, it would only be that I couldn't buy it for myself (I tried!). Comparatively, it may seem a tast(?) pricey but, totally worth it. No question!I, wholeheartedly, recommend this property for anyone looking for a gorgeous home on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Except, of course, during the last couple of weeks in March. That's when I plan on coming back next year!ps. Thanx again to Sara and Amanda for all their help with the last minute arrangements. Good job.
Our family was very pleased with the home and the property. The house is beautiful and we had plenty of room. We ended up going back to the Honolulu area quite a bit which can be a two hour drive during rush hour. But, it was very peaceful and the view from the living room was beautiful. The sliding glass door to the patio would lock when shut so if someone stepped out and shut the door they would be locked out. We needed to be very, very careful. The lockbox on the front door is handy, but again, one day the string on the set of keys got caught in the locking mechanism and we had a very hard time getting them out. Overall I would recommend the property, but just know that there are things to be careful of.
Had a fantastic time. The beach access was a little difficult for the old man(me) but the kids and my wife were like bighorn on the rocks. The surf and sand was incomparable. The location close to Haleiwa and Turtle Bay was great for restaurants and amenities. The management staff especially Sarah were amazing in their helpfulness and attention to needs. Only "surprise" was the 5th bedroom over the garage did not have direct access to main house.
My family had the lovely opportunity to stay at this beach home for 8 glorious nights! The house was everything it stated it was! We enjoyed everything about the home. It was located in a more private location, which was wonderful. The ocean in front of the house was a bit rough....but it was that time of year. Because of the rough current, we had the opportunity to observe lots of surfers. We were also there 7 days after the full moon (when the box jelly fish come to the shore). We couldn't go swimming, but we got to see LOTS of sea turtles eating the jelly fish.I would recommend this house to anyone who has the opportunity to stay in Hawaii. The home was right down the way from Haliewa (sp?) which is a great little surfing town (and the best shave ice). The only thing that I wish the house would have had was a little better access to the ocean. You have to travel down some big rocks to get to the ocean. This was a challenge for my kids and elderly parents.Overall this was an excellent home and we had a great time there! Thanks so much for renting out this beautiful home!!!
This house was amazing, the location was perfect. The set up of the home was great as well. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking at going to the Island.
We had a wonderful stay. 11 of us in total for a family reunion with 4 children 3 and under, a teenager, rest adults and one senior. The position was close to ideal (we would have liked to have a footpath to be able to walk with the stroller but no biggie). Beautiful section of the beach ( we had swell so couldn't swim with the children but drove to Turtle Bay instead) great for beachcombing, turtle-spotting and surf-watching/surfing. Wonderful grass with no bees or nasties creeping around (just some friendly huge snails!) I would only have a couple of suggestions for the house:Would be good to know in advance things like the property has a small portable stereo that connects to an ipod, has a pack n play in the bedroom and a stroller in the garage. The barbeque is small and needs a plate in order to grill properly, and that it is gas so additional grilling beads etc are not essential. Also I would say that the kitchen. although well equipped would be even better with a simple food processor/blender and a potato masher. We had a problem with a sewage smell that wasn't addressed, and would suggest even though there are plenty of beds, an extra spare single mattress would have been great. I understand that there are lots of beds but everyone has a different configuration I guess so a couple of twin/single bed options would have been good (the attic above the kitchen was no good for the little ones due to the stairs and too noisy for the babies but was useful when one of the little ones didn't sleep for extra beds for parents during the night!)The screens on the doors/windows were great at dusk/night. The airconditioning was perfect, the rocks down to the beach were fine as beach access for the more nimble crowd but for little ones or older people it was a bit tricky and needed an extra pair of hands so some steps would be a welcome addition. The cottage is just charming (my Mum stayed in there) and the double glazing on some of the windows really helped r
We LOVED it! The home was gorgeous and the beach was outstanding. Nice location and very private.
Planning on using this again...our first choice for our next visit. Thanks again,
this house was beautiful. the location was great, not too far from anything that we needed as far as a grocery store, restaurant,or gift shops.the beach was beautiful and its the only place in hawaii that we found sea shells.oh, and the sea turtles that came up in the afternoons was the icing on the cake.we would definently like to stay here again.
We loved this house! We had 6 people in our group, 2 couples and 2 singles. The house was perfect. Each person had their own space, own bathroom, and there was plenty of space outside and in the common areas for us to all be together. The house has just been remodeled and is beautiful. The beach, views, and proximity to all the North Shore has to offer was fantastic. We'd start the day with coffee and turtle watching on the lanai, and then venture out to Shark's Cove, Waimea, or Haliewa for a few hours, and then relax on our own beach for the afternoon. A rental car is a must, but many attractions are just a few minutes away. The location is pretty quiet. Not a lot of night life, restaurants, etc, but we all love to cook, so had our own dinner parties each night! Overall, I highly recommend this house. The only cons were that the gas grill was somewhat small (although very functional) and the oven took an unusual amount of time to pre-heat. (about an hour to get to 350). You can always grill in stages, and I trust that maintenance has taken care of the oven problem by now, so really not huge issues at all. One bit of advice, you’ll also want to bring your own bars of soap. We brought the shampoo, etc, but for some reason I’d assumed they’re be bath soap provided. It’s not, so just plan for it :)Our group can’t wait to go back.
