Beautiful view and amazing hosts!
Stayed on property for a few days while in town for a wedding. The location was perfect and the homeowners were so helpful! The view is perfect and the beach is so private! I traveled with just myself and my husband but we entertained some friends and it was spacious! I real neighborhood feel!
Our 20th annual staycation on the North Shore!!
When our kids were little we decided it was too expensive to fly to the mainland for vacations with a family of 5. So we started with a hotel on the Northshore and over the years have stayed at beach homes up and down the coast. This is our 20th year and first stay in Waialua and this house fit us like a glove. My girls are all grown up and graduated from One is married and we had rooms for all of us. The kitchen was great and big enough to fit all us girls in it at the same time!!! Also everything worked and that was important. The best part was the beach front and sitting outside watching the waves, swimming and just relaxing!!! That's just what we like! Swim, bodysurf, eat and sleep!!! Thanks for a great weekend!!!
Location was the best! Quiet neighborhood, quiet clean beach. Husband got to swim with a Sea Turtle! Group of 6 Rays also came by and he got to snorkel up to them. Coffee at sunrise out on the deck will be our 'happy place' for years to come. House was clean and stocked. Washer and dryer workerd just fine. Comfortable beds. 5 min. drive to Halewia! Loved being on the quiet side of the island!!
Great vacation home right on the beach!
We had a wonderful time at Eden by the Sea.
You cannot beat the location and privacy! We wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle and this spot delivered. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves. Every morning and evening we enjoyed watching the turtles and soaked in the beauty. The home has everything you need and for our family of 3 its was perfect. The owners, Pam and Robert were wonderful hosts providing snorkel gear and boogie boards for us to use.
We loved how close it was to Haleiwa town (only 10 min drive).
Exceptionally situated and well appointed cottage in a superb location. We loved everything about it and the property management service was very responsive. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy this jewel of a property again!
Perfect for our needs
This was the perfect spot for a quiet beach vacation. The house is lovely and had everything we needed for our small family, including beach chairs and toys, and a well-stocked kitchen. The beach is gorgeous and great for swimming. We never wanted to leave!
Hawaii Vacation Reip
This rental was exactly what we were looking for! Relaxing and right on the water. The place was great!
Manager Response: Thank you for staying with us, Jessica!
A wonderful stay for a group of 11
My extended family of 11 people stay in both bungalows and it was wonderful. You could not ask for a better location. It’s tuck away in a neighborhood, but a quick drive to the food trucks and market in Haleiwa. There was privacy between the two bungalows but it was easy to go back and forth between the two. The place was very clean and was well stocked. The yard was very pretty and quite private from the neighbors. Having the beach right out front was such a treat. The children could be playing in the sand while the adults relaxed in the yard keeping an eye on them. The beach was very quiet with only a few locals walking by. It was safe for swimming. We did have a day of big waves and saw tow-in surfers out front, which was fun to watch. Unfortunately, half way through our week long vacation there was a rain storm, so the river run off turned the water out front brown for the rest of our stay. Overall it was perfect place for our family to spend Christmas and celebrate a 75th birthday.
My adult family stayed a week and loved Eden on the Sea. Great North Shore location close to Haleiwa and so lovely to have a walkable beach right in front. Super garden with nice furniture and a BBQ shared with the neighboring unit. Everything worked well and we had no issues to resolve with the management. We were six adults and discovered the place is a bit small for such a group -- indeed, there were only five plates, just four chairs at the dining table, a tiny coffeemaker, and room for only three to sit in the living room. So Eden is good for a family with smaller children but a stretch for six adults.

10 days in Waialua
My wife and I recently spent 10 days at Eden by the Sea (Bungalow B).
- 15 steps to the beach and another 15 to the water, you can hear the waves all day/night.
- Good spot for locations on the North Shore (5 mins to Haleiwa).
- All correspondence with the rental staff were professional and courteous.
- Only A/C in the bedrooms as described, but the rest of the house gets very warm in the afternoons (even with the windows open and fans on trying to catch a breeze).
- The water is very brown close to the house due to a stream that empties into the bay a couple of hundred yards away. Out of 10 days we only had mostly clear water on one day (see google earth overhead to see what it looks like).
- House is pretty worn out, looks like a long time rental.
- Average cleanliness.
We ended up getting the house for less because we were close to the rental dates. All in all we were in Hawaii on the North Shore and had a good trip.
Manager Response: Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write a review. We do want to mention that the weather during your stay was unseasonably rainy, which led to stream water flowing much further out than is usual. This also led to atypically humid weather. Generally the sea breeze, trade winds and fans keep the house very comfortable while the ac in all the bedrooms are icy cold. We are sorry not to have exceeded your expectations in regards to cleaning, and are implementing a 4* hotel cleaning management plan to ensure that we do so in the future. And we do hope to see you again in the future, you were awesome guests! Mahalo McKibben Family!
Great Home, Empty Beach
Our family enjoyed our stay at Eden by the Sea, the home was spacious and comfortable as well as very clean. The kitchen was nicely stocked with more than enough cookware for us to prepare our meals. We especially enjoyed the outdoor lawn area with the comfortable furniture. The beach is nice and empty, however, it would get extremely windy during the day. Early mornings and evenings were nice and calm and we saw quite a few turtles. We didn't feel it was the best beach for swimming, but was a nice location and easy to travel to nearby beaches better suited for young children.
A little piece of paradise!
We had an amazing stay at this house! The North Shore is the perfect place to be to get away from the hustle and bustle. It’s also much more beautiful (my opinion) than the craziness that is Honolulu. There’s so much to do in this area! Be sure to check out Haleiwa! Drive the North Shore, it won’t disappoint! There are so many beautiful safe swimming areas. The house was spotless with everything we could need during our stay. 6 of us were very comfortable here. Even though it is a duplex, they have set the house is to where you have so much privacy from the neighbors and still have a feeling of seclusion. We really loved this place so much! It’s magical and the sunsets from the backyard...just wow!
This home is perfect as far as layout and being right on the ocean. It is very close to little towns for shopping, dining. Down the road about 1 mile you can snorkel in a very safe area. We saw 4 turtles swimming and one laying right on the beach.
Th downfall of this stay was that one comforter had what appeared to be dried blood on it. I am a doctor and I feel strongly that this was blood. I think this was completely inappropriate.
Second, the neighbor (which is within the same structure) continued to allow her dog to come over to our area. He even got into our home. I am not comfortable with strange dogs so we had to barricade our property with chairs.
Third, all the towels smell like mildew, which can be expected in such a damp climate, but is this day and age with Oxiclean, I'm not sure this was cool.
Fourth, we were asked if the owner could work on the WiFi on one of the days. I think we never should have been asked this. We said yes, and that was our choice, but this could have been booked around our stay, it was not emergent.
I have stayed in many other places that were more accommodating. After all, it is an incredible expense per night. For example, I have seen places leave you some coffee. This was bare bones.
Great house on the beach!
Nice clean house, great beach, nice area, turtles in the water, nice grass yard, great view, nice kitchen.
Shawn or Connie T.
The home was beautiful, clean, and looked just like the pictures. We absolutely loved it! It is close to town and the beach in front of the property is very nice and extremely quiet. The little shops in town are cute and quaint, and lots of excursions go out of the harbor, so a nice easy drive. Would love to stay again!
Excellent. Everything we were looking for!
The place was spectacular. Secluded enough that we only saw a handful of people on the beach next to our portion
eden by the sea for sure
Love love loved it. We loved the cottage feel of the accomodation. The home was clean and well stocked and even provided basic needs to start relaxing with out having to run out to a store first. Each morning sitting on the deck with coffee could not be beat. We saw whales,Hawaiian Monk seals and the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. There had been a lot of rain before our stay so the water was brown from run off be a near creak. But we enjoyed the beach for sunning and clean water beaches were 10 or less minutes away. Would recommend this accommodation to friends for a great Hawaiian experience.
Nice Beach House
We stayed 8 days and thoroughly enjoyed Eden by the Sea in Waialua. Even though it is a duplex we heard very little neighboring noise. The beach is lovely and very private. Other than an occasional beach walker, we had the beach to ourselves. There is a Waialua Farmer's Market on Saturdays at the Sugar Mill, and Haleiwa is a short drive away. Many of the beach houses that are right on the beach like this one is also have a road and noisy traffic behind it. This one is tucked into a quiet neighborhood. We would rent it again.
Eden By The Sea
We loved our stay at this charming beach rental. Everything fit our family well and we loved the proximity to the beach. It definitely is all about the location. It was a little hard to find in the dark, but we made it. The only complaints we had were there were not enough towels. Only 5 for bathing. But there were plenty beach towels. The trundle sheets had not been changed because they were full of sand when we arrived. But it was easy to find some clean replacements so that was an easy fix. The screen door was hard to open and came off the track often, but other than that everything else was in good working condition. I was disappointed there wasn't a blow dryer, as we were told there would be. Not a big deal, except that I didn't pack one. would have been nice to know before arriving.
Very clean and well maintained.
Perfect for couple or smaller family.
Great place and what a amazing setting, the only thing I would recommend would be air conditioning in the bedrooms...we had 8 fans going most of the time.
Manager Response: Thank you for staying with us! We have listened to the advice of our guests, and as of September 2017 there will be ac in all bedrooms. We hope to see you again next year!
The location of the house is great -- close to Haleiwa town and all its amenities but removed enough that you can unwind and relax in a very private spot on a beautiful bay that is great for swimming. House looked very clean and smelled clean -- only slight issue is with the shower. The curtain liner needs replacing, and the shower tiles/ tub grout could use a good bleaching. Also, we'd recommend replacing a number of the bedroom pillows. But mattresses were decent, and cooking utensils/pans good enough for basic meals. We did find the house quite hot from the late afternoon through the evening, and we are from Florida so we are used to heat. I asked about a/c before we booked and knew that there was not any, but we were assured that none was needed. I think that in the hot summer months, the house's poor air circulation (just because of the way the duplex is split) means that it takes quite a while for the house to cool down. It would be very pleasant outside and hot inside. We made do with cool showers at night before bed. We still loved our time there, but with a few improvements (window fans or a/c units, a counter dishwasher and a washer/dryer), the house would easily be 5 stars. I expected better amenities for the price.
Manager Response: Thank you for the review. We are in talks with the owners about all of your suggestions. We do want to mention that the home DOES have a washer and dryer. Like many homes in Hawaii, it is located on the outside of the house, but you do not share the units with anyone else. UPDATE: as of September 2017 there will be ac in all bedrooms.
Cute and So Relaxing
My family (2 adults and 2 teens) enjoyed 10 days in this cute 3 bedroom place right on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, swimming and long walks right outside your door. The kitchen was basic but fine for simple meals. There's a lot of great food available in nearby Haleiwa.
Be aware that there's no AC but the house cools down quickly with the windows open and the fans on.
We liked the location-it's a pretty straight forward 30 min drive from the airport heading away from all the busyness of Honolulu. There's a Costco right off the H3 freeway on the way, perfect for getting food when you arrive and gas when you head home.
It is a duplex and you will hear the neighbors. They were very pleasant but it's not quite as private as a single family house. That's really the only reason not to give 5 stars. Overall we had a great time and would rent this house again.
Manager Response: We have not had a complaint before about privacy, probably due to the clearly marked areas that are separate to each side, and to the tall fence dividing the two yards. We are on a small island - 44 miles wide - and beach front homes are the most sought after areas to live here. Subsequently, most beach homes are very close to a neighbor, whether a duplex or not. UPDATE: As of September 2017 there will be ac in all bedrooms.
Great Little Bungalow!
We loved the location and the house overall and said we'd definitely check availability in the future if we all came back on another girl's trip! We are 4 girls in our late 20's to early 30's We also had my mom along for a girls week in Hawaii! The house was as pictured and right on the beach, perfect! Overall the house itself was clean and in great shape! I sent an email out as requested to give an update on how things were going "so far" with the start of our week stay but I never received a reply so I left it at that. I was surprised I never received a reply to the email since they were really great at fast responses when I was initially trying to book the property. Other tips for future renters: There are some cute little lizards that hang around in the greenery outside the house. Don't be scared! The town the house is in is pretty quaint and quiet but Haliewa is super close and they have everything you need for grocery/drug stores and touristy stuff, bars, eateries. The house is a bit small for all the people we had but we made it work. We hoped to use the outdoor shower to offset the use of the main indoor bathroom, but there was no privacy wall so the shower really could only be used for rinsing off after the beach, not full shower to get ready for the evening while someone else is in the indoor bathroom. Also plan for the BBQ grill that it is charcoal and not gas. I don't recall the description stating and in my excitement to be at the beach, just assumed the grill was gas so we planned to cook a lot outside but never ended up using it because charcoal takes longer and we just wanted to quick heat hot dogs and burgers so we could be back on the beach! The driveway is a bit hard to find the first time as it's tucked in between two privacy walls for other houses but once you find it, you're good to go!
Manager Response: Hi Samantha - Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, as well as your tips for future renters. We are sorry to have missed the email you mention. After searching our inbox it looks as if all emails we received from your address were responded to promptly - the last one received was a question about grocery stores, and our staff responded with answers and an address within a few hours. It is important to us that our guests know that we are always available, and should we not answer an email please double check that it was sent, or just give us a call. We are happy to learn that you all had a wonderful time, and hope to see you again soon!
Perfect North Shore Sancuary
This amazing place was perfect. It was clean and private. It is right on the beach and the beach barely ever has people on it. So quiet and we will be coming back every year.
Manager Response: Glad to see that you enjoyed your stay. See you NEXT YEAR :)
Great vacation getaway!
We were very impressed with our stay at Eden by the Sea, It is a quaint little home and was perfect for us to enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean. Quiet and private little oasis. We left a couple of boogie boards for the next visitors to enjoy.
Manager Response: Thank you for leaving the boogie boards! We look forward to seeing you next year.
Hawaii vacation 2017
We enjoyed our stay and the location was great we were 4 adults the house was listed as a 3 bedroom since there was only 1 bathroom we used the 3rd bedroom as storage for luggage and golf clubs and dressing room. The kitchen table had seating for only 4 people as the table was small and no other chairs
Manager Response: We have added seating, there are plenty of spots outside for everyone to lounge.
My husband, sister, and I spent a week in this wonderful little home. It was the perfect size for the three of us. We really enjoyed the location, as it was right on the beach and close to all of the attractions we wanted to see, such as the Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation, and the Point.
We cannot say enough about the wonderful neighbors next door. Not only did they offer to help with any questions we had, but they checked with us on the one night that they planned a BBQ to make sure they were not too noisy--we could hardly hear any noise from their side. We would not hesitate to rent this home again.
Manager Response: Thank you for staying with us, you were awesome guests!
The house was just as pictured, exceptionally clean and comfortable. The beach goes on for miles, the kids were in and out of the water all day. We ended up canceling some of our day trips just so we could spend more time together at the house. Check in was easy, the management company responded to our questions immediately. The best vacation our family has ever had, we will be back!
Manager Response: Thank you, Amy, we loved meeting your family. Hope you can come back next year!
